The seller's description on this item #405889244 which closed on 08/20/2000 on ebay was "This is The Clamborn hand made Spoonholder c. 1970's made by Fenton Art Glass Co. It is mint in the box. The Spoonholder is approx. 4" long and 2-1/2" high. The paper insert reads "This authentic, beautiful spoonholder is an exact copy of the original, which is over 100 years old. They are hand-made at Fenton Art Glass Co. using our own three-piece mold. The original spoonholder was given to my mother by her grandmother in 1900 for a wedding gift." it was sold exclusively by Clamborn Glass Co. of Yachats, Oregon. It is a very rich vaseline and one beautiful piece of glass under a blacklight. A great find for a vaseline collector. I have had this in my collection for 20+ years."

Dave Peterson of VGCI says "this is also called a 'mule shoe' spoonholder, resembling the hoof of a mule. The spoonholder is fairly contemporary, being made in eight various colors during the last 10 years. Summit made a similar one, only there is no mark and the bottom is flat. the clamborn holder has a recessed bottom. They usually sell for about $20 each. About 2 years ago, there was a webpage up, but is no longer there. A family-owned business called 100 VALLYS made it and it is a reproduction of one that was made in 1873."
